INTRODUCTION

All India ASECA organized two days conference at Rourkela during 10th and 11th of February, 2002.   An attempt was made to bring together associations and concerned people so as to facilitate dissemination of information on the topics chosen for the Conference. The format of the conference was so selected to experiment the effectiveness of communication process. The use of Overhead Projector (OHP) and submission of articles/papers on the topics of the conference were the notable features of that conference. Inspired by the success of that conference, All India ASECA is once again organizing an All India Conference of Santals to deliberate on various issues.

Main organisations as well as eminent persons have been invited to present their views.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE

The programme aims at developing of a network of participants/social workers  to pursue and foster co-operation and involvement. This attempt is to bring together different people under a common platform to exchange views. The idea is to generate public opinion through open discussion/ deliberation so as to identify problem areas, arrive at a conclusion with feasible solution(s) and implementation plan. Documentation of views  is the main thrust and focus instead of continuing with oral tradition.

METHODOLOGY

Conference – cum –Workshop methodology would be adopted leading to formulation of a broad action plan. The speakers are free to express their views. Participants are not allowed to interrupt the proceedings for maintaining the discipline. They are also free to express views after the session, which ensures their active participation. The views can be submitted in writing to the organizers.

PARTICIPANTS’ PROFILE

This programme has been designed for representatives from voluntary  organisations,  social organisations who take decisions and contribute to organisational decision making process and also individuals who take keen interest in the welfare of Santals. As far as possible please avoid bringing small children.

SPEAKERS & PAPERS

For making the presentation better and easier to follow, speakers will be using transparencies during the presentation. A guest speaker gets 30-45 minutes to share his views on a topic. Chairman gets around 30 minutes for interaction with the delegates  It is experienced that presentation by using transparencies is highly appreciated.  In the absence of transparencies speakers can bring their papers and submit the same.  It is requested to bring either of these two to avoid inconvenience. Due to limitation of time, it is not be possible to give opportunity to all for the presentation but the papers are invited for future reference.  Organisations / individuals are requested to submit their articles latest by 20.1.2003 to Shri Bhagirathi Majhi, Isannagar, Balasore 756 001 OR  to us directly.

REGISTRATION FEE

A delegate’s registration fee is Rs 100/- (Rupees One hundred only). The fee includes accommodation and food charge. However, interested and/or able persons are requested to generously contribute either Rs500/- or Rs 200/- as delegate cum donation fee in order to help the organisers for making better arrangements. The Marshal Dahar and Juan Marshal Semled, Balasore will receive the local contribution. Persons/Organisations interested to sponsor various activities are most welcome. For further enquiry please contact Shri Bhagirathi Majhi (p) 06782-240750 or Shri Ramdas Soren @ 06782-268051
